UPD: 01/31 ... see below. She's in ICU but doing great!
... a dear friend who just had a baby (Thursday afternoon) is having emergency surgery to remove her kidney as it seems that she had an aneuryism in her kidney which they couldn't fix any other way. Her baby, Tatiana (as well as her husband Mike and three other kids) could really use mama home and safe and out of the hospital.
Please storm heaven for me .... Alyssa is a wonderful woman and her mom-in-law (another dear friend) is one of those ground-breaker, pro-life staunch Catholics.

ETA: updated below .... Alyssa went to Christendom and her husband Mike Hichborn graduated from Christendom, in case any of y'all know them....

Thanks y'all ... last news was that she was stable and going into surgery. The worry is that they'll need to take her leg (not sure why?!) and she's only 30 and has 3 at home (oldest is 8 and youngest is 2 DAYS old).
Please continue to pray and thank you so much!

UPDATE: Alyssa will be in ICU for a few days more. Once they got the damaged kidney (about 1/3 of it was gone) out and the bleeding under control, the leg issue resolved itself. It seems God has created our bodies to reduce blood flow to extremities to keep the vital organs working when there is a problem -- Alyssa's leg was numb from this and once the blood was flowing properly, the leg was fine!
The whole family is awed by the prayers and help offered by so many. Please send prayers of thanksgiving for Alyssa and her continued recovery. Seems the kidney issue was chronic and could have manifested before or during delivery ... which would have killed her!
