We are due for orders and should find out on Monday if we get to stay in the same area that we are in now. Our other option is South Carolina. Wouldn't be so terrible but we have a really great pre-school we like for dd that she goes to and friends and a life carved out here. We are also going to be purchasing a house either here or in SC when we get orders. There is a certain stress level associated with the waiting. Please pray for a swift decision and an easy time in this upcoming adventure.

Praying with 25 years of empathy...I wish I could say it gets easier. I have found that remembering that God's plan supercedes even the military's plans is very, very comforting. And the example of the Holy Family (ordered to Egypt, then to Nazareth, with almost no notice) helps me know that I can ask for St. Joseph and Our Lady to intercede because they know just how my family feels.
I'm praying for your peace of mind, in particular!

Thank you. We have one patrol left and then we are on to shore duty. As of right now DH is getting out at the end of this enlistment but we will see what God has in store for us down the road. I am scared to move cross-country if we have to, it worries me about having to do these things myself--finding a place to live, organizing everything, etc. Thank you for the prayers

UPDATE****we will be in Charleston area late summer (July-ish is when we leave here). I will post in Tea and Conversation for advice, especially from the military community. Thank you for the prayers.

Thank you everyone. I've been very blessed to be connected with a realty company over in SC through one of the amazing women here on the board. I'm anxious and ready to start looking. The next few months will be getting all of our paperwork (power of attorneys, pre-approval, etc) together.
