I have come done with a hard cold in the last few days...but.....
On Thursday morning I need to start my new Rheumatoid Arthitis meds...an injections with will hurt my immune system. I need to be healthy to start it!! I need to get it started because I have been just about needing a wheelchair lately to get around.. and we have been waiting for the insurance company to argue with the doctor about my treatment......
Any suggestions about beating down this cold quickly will be greatly appreciated....I don't have much money to spend on over the counter meds (the pharmacy money now goes to the RA meds--they are very expensive)....
Hopefully I won't have to put off the beginning of this treatment.
And please offer a little prayer that this treatment will work....the last meds they tried had me ending up in the hospital from side affects.

I am praying for you! My mother-in-law suffers from RA and I know from her experiences that it's a difficult thing to handle at the best of times.
I am sure you'll get great advice about the cold...and I will be following it with you!
I will say some special prayers for you every day while you wait to start the treatment.

cheap things for over the counter.. hmmm zinc, vit. C, garlic, elderberry.. that one's less cheap.. hmm ginger, pineapple/bromelain
You could get pineapple and fresh ginger and make a smoothie.. just wash the ginger root, and grate with the skin on.. then you can freeze the ginger root in a small baggie and anytime you need some just grate it straight from the freezer.
garlic you can get the capsules or you can just buy garlic and eat lots of it.. you can even use fresh garlic chopped up and swallow it like pills.
I don't know about RA but I've read that Nettle helps anti-inflammatory drugs work better for reducing the pain of arthritis.
