A devastating turn of tragic events in the past 24 hours. My dear uncle, my Dad's brother, has died this afternoon. Unexpectedly, sadly, and a blow to the entire family.

His name was James; often called Jim, Jameser ... and other endearing nicknames of past family jokes, pranks, and good times.

He was without God for most of his adult life, and recently began going to a Methodist church, and found himself in the midst of being a man of God in his later years.

I am sincerly grateful that my Dad was with his brother at his time of passing.

Please pray for him. Our family. He had many, many friends. ... he was so loved, and such a big part of my life.

Thank you all so much for your prayers, it means so very much to me and my family. My uncle was a dear man.

I'll be leaving in the morning to attend the funeral, about 1000 miles away from home; I am going to take my youngest along with me. I've never been away from my kids overnight and am worried and anxious about leaving them. I know they are in good hands, but that doesn't take away my worry. I'm also a bit nervous about flying. ... I don't fly very often and my youngest has never flown (she is 19 months). Can I ask for your continued prayers for my worry and our safe travels to and from the funeral.
