I hadn't thought about the 6 month anniversary - we'll hit that 6 month point since my dad's death in Nov. I was thinking of him a lot today for some reason. I know how hard the loss is.

Those early anniversaries are so hard to get through. Give yourself permission to grieve. But remember that even the pain the you are enduring flows from goodness...love for you father, compassion for your mother and your siblings in your loss. Your suffering is a sign of the love your bear for those around you...the less you had loved, the less you would have suffered. Our Lady of Sorrows, and Christ himself uphold you.

Lean on the strength of your guardian angel, and remember and draw great comfort from the fact that your father revels in your prayers for him...either to see him safely home, or to be a blessing to other poor souls still waiting.

My own father has been gone now for over 20 years...but I still remember vividly that first anguishing year.

You have my deepest sympathy and prayers.
