Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am back AGAIN for house prayers!

We found our perfect house! We are so excited! We put an offer in on it and they countered and we agreed to the counter!

But we haven't signed papers yet (all this happened yesterday afternoon) and yesterday evening another offer came in on the house.

We haven't heard back what's going on I have no idea if they decided to stay with us or go with the other offer or are thinking or what. But the waiting is driving me insane!!!

Our apartment has never been so clean as it is right now though since I'm doing nervous cleaning

I keep thinking "God's will be done". If we are meant for this house then it will be. I can't help thinking though how broken my heart will be if it doesn't go through!

If you could offer up a prayer for me this afternoon until I hear something that would be great!

Oh Lisa ouch! This is our 3rd one we're working on now. It sure is stressful! I'm just hoping for it to go smoothly so this stress can go away! I'm praying for your house situation too!

I just heard from our realtor that the sellers took the other offer instead of ours. I am so sad right now!

I'm sorry Jen!

I'm assuming the paperwork wasn't signed? I'm not sure the laws in your state and whether it would even be worth it but as a former Realtor, once they countered, the ball was in your court and if you accepted their agreement (even verbally) that makes a binding contract. Therefore, I'm not sure how they can now legally enter into another contract. Just an fyi to may be ask your Realtor even if you don't pursue this particular house...

So sorry as I know how stressful the whole process is.

I was thinking the same as Kathryn. It might be worth checking into.

Hmmm. I'll have to look into it. That's what I was thinking yesterday but once I got the news that idea went right out of my head. Thank you for the advice!!

I've put a call into our realtor to pose the question of us agreeing to their counter offer before the other bid came in. We shall see! And to clarify my earlier info no we didn't have anything in writing yet. Just a verbal agreement that we would accept their counter the way it was written down (the seller wrote out an e-mail detailing a few conditions such as closing date, when they move etc) and we agreed to it all.

I will keep you updated and thank you so much for the prayers and advice!

I'm under the impression that after the first written offer, only a verbal agreement is needed on counters, etc...

Praying, Jen! BTDT with losing a "perfect" house. It might be comforting to know God's timing brought us to even better!

Well we lost it    In Rhode Island it's not a "contract' until papers have been signed.

After talking to our realtor many times yesterday afternoon I think we were "spared" a lot of grief. The people who were selling had a lot more demands then they origionally told us and come to find out there may be issues with the house that would have been difficult to fix.

Sooooo I'm thanking God for sparing us what we thought may have been our "perfect" house that would have possibly turned out not so perfect.

Now it's back to the drawing board and starting all over again looking. Who ever would have thought this whole process was so stressful and draining!!
