Hi everyone,
My fil is in need of your prayers today. As many of you know, we just completed a move from New York to Mississippi to be closer to my husband's family. The day before we arrived, my husband's father had a heart attack. He didn't go to the ER at the time and only discovered that he'd had an attack at a doctor's visit a couple of days later. His catheterization today revealed two large blockages - 90 and 100%. My dh thinks that bypass surgery will be scheduled for tonight or tomorrow.
Please pray that surgery is successful and that his recovery goes well... and for my dh, too, as he copes with the stress of moving a large family, finances, and getting a new branch of his company up and running, along with the worries about his father's health. I know he sees the hand of God in all of this (and me, too.) We had been planning on moving in late Sept. or October before we had this house dropped in our lap and were required to move in early August. I can't believe the timing. At the moment I think my dh is just grateful that he is able to be here for his parents.
UPDATE 9/13:
My fil's bypass has FINALLY been scheduled for tomorrow morning, 9/14. They are expecting it to be a double bypass, but if the aorta is damaged as they fear it is, the surgery could be more complicated. Please pray for him, and my dh, as we had some very frustrating and disheartening news about our house in NY tonight of all nights, right after my dh learned that his father's surgery would be first thing in the morning. He is so very stressed right now.
UPDATE 9/16:
Just wanted to let everyone who was praying know that my fil's bypass was successful, and that he seems to be doing well, although having some trouble breathing (probably because of heavy smoking). My dh has been at the hospital for most of the past few days and reports that his dad is "cranky", which they take to be a good sign.   Looks like he'll be coming home on Sunday, if all continues to go well!

It's amazing how God takes care of the details and timing for His children. He is truly a loving Father.

We're doing well. My incision healed right before we left NY, and I started feeling better immediately. At that point, it was a matter of counteracting the effects of 2 months spent sitting/lying around on my muscles, but I'm feeling pretty much back to normal now.  The baby is a sweetheart and actually sleeps. I have spent a lot of time wondering if he was switched in the hospital! None of my babies have been decent sleepers.
My fil is scheduled for a CT scan today (Friday) and surgery on Tuesday. There is some concern that since the blockages are so severe, the surgery will be more risky. Apparently they can't bypass the artery that is 100% blocked at all because the blockage has done irreparable damage to the heart tissue and a bypass would do no good there. He seems in good spirits, though, and we remain hopeful.
