Several years ago I had a thunderclap migraine that landed me in hospital, and set off a series of severe and debilitating migraines that persisted for a couple of years.
I just had another thunderclap. It was scary because of the amount of the pain, and now I am anxious because really I should go in to hospital for tests to be sure it was just a thunderclap and not something worse. (and don't want to because rather than an MRI they try to do a lumber puncture to save money and last time they kept trying and trying and couldn't do it and it still hurts where they tried)
I would appreciate prayer that I not have a series of migraines again. They just destroyed my life and now I have two children and can't imagine how life would work with me needing to be unconscious in bed. It is also possible that thunderclaps precede an actual brain hemorrahge (can't spell that!  ) and as I am on my own with the children so much I don't want to go through that with them here. When a thunderclap comes it is so painful - it scares dh so badly I am terrified what it would do to my babes.

Praying for you and esp. to have the strength and courage to seek medical care. I think you could only add to the stress and anxiety (and possible migraines) by not knowing exactly what is causing it. May be you could call a local dr. to be seen this week as opposed to attempting a hospital visit and that way you can let them know your concerns about the previous experience and tests.

Praying, I had a migraine like that for six weeks straight once, I can't imagine a coupole years! Praying to St. Rapahel for healing of whatever is causing this.

I am praying for you!
I hope you'll consider speaking with your doctor, and expressing your concerns about your lumbar puncture experience. (I've been known to tell lab folks that they get three tries to find the vein, because they're so careless...)

How awful for you! You certainly have my prayers that this is but an isolated incident, not to happen anymore, and surely not a symptom of anything worse! That said, I agree with Nancy; and making sure to rule out any severe medical issues that may be going on.
