UPDATED: 7/28/10
Praise God ... just got this note from Linda:
heard from the doctor: it is STAGE 1--he believes he got it all; it is not in anything else. So as far as treatment, he says I don't need to do chemo or radiation. I have to go for my follow up next week, and then he wants to see me every 3 months and have another colonoscopy in 1 year. If I am all clear, then we do the colonoscopy every 3-5 years.
Physically, I am feeling lousy. Yesterday was awful. A friend of mine who is a nurse said the 4th day after surgery is always the worst. She said it will probably still be bad today but should be a little better than yesterday. But at least whatever it is it should keep getting better.
Obviously all the prayers have worked, so thanks to everyone who has been such an important part of this going so well. You all continue to be in our prayers.
Linda

Linda goes in today at 3:00 .... Hour of Divine Mercy! (how cool is that!) .... so please send up a prayer that the surgeon gets it all and that in fact it is just Stage 1 tumor.
THANKS and blessings to you all ....

UPDATED: 7/21/10
Please keep the prayers coming ... the doc thinks the cancer may not be as bad (may be trauma from the colonoscopy showing up on the ultrasound), so Linda will go in on Friday to have the tumor removed and should be home Friday evening. They'll biopsy it and determine if she needs chemo/radiation. Isn't that great, hopeful news?
Please keep praying my dear prayer warriors!
===============================================
I have a dear friend here in Virginia who has had a rough couple of weeks and really asks your prayers:
Thurs -- van totaled (and they don't have money to get a new one anytime soon); they're down to one car which won't fit them all (6 kids + 2 parents and most of them are really tall for their ages! )
Fri -- she was "let go" from her Catholic high school part-time teaching job; the good thing is that her dh still works there
Mon -- had an ultrasound for colon cancer (to determine extent of cancer spread) and found out that it was worse than doc thought -- it has attached to her muscle and she'll need 3 months of radiation BEFORE she can be operated on to remove the tumor.
Oh and AFTER insurance covers her colonoscopy, they still owe $1200.
The amazing thing about this family is that they're so calm about it all. When they say grace at dinner, they always pray for others less fortunate ... when their 11-yo son said "who could be worse than us"? The mom answered: the mom with inoperable cancer, the van totaled and the driver dead, the family without any job! They are truly amazing.
I ask that you pour out prayers for this lovely family ...
