We just got word that a son of friend has been shot in Afghanistan.   He was shot three times, and his condition has been upgraded from critical to serious.

From his grandmother. "One into the chest through the lung (required surgery), one through the muscle of his forearm, and the third into his shoulder. That one will need rods and painful reconstruction. Prayers appreciated! Freedom isn't free!"

Please say a prayer for this wonderful family. Greg has only been in Afghanistan about a month. I know your prayers will help all involved.

Update for Greg's mom

"Update: We are now nearly 38 hours later, and they have no word for me. The only thing that I have found out is that he has NOT been transported out of Afghanistan yet. I found out today that he was truly in a hero's position and saved two other Marines before being fired upon."

The wait is so hard on the family....
I will update again when we have some news...

Greg is got to Bethesda today and had his 4th surgery. They don't think they will be able to save his arm (from the shoulder)

The family is begging for more prayers.....his is not doing too well.....

There are no adequate words to express the debt of gratitude we owe to young men like Greg, and so many others, who put themselves in harms way for the sake of others.
