Goodness, I seem to be asking for a lot of prayers lately ...

Please pray for my father, Paul, as he undegoes a CT scan tomorrow morning to check on the status of an aortic aneurism. We are hoping the aneurism has not grown, and that it does not need to be removed.

He actually had two aortic aneurisms at one point, but the larger one was removed successfully almost two years ago. This one is smaller, but in a spot where it would be risky to try to remove it. Thank God, so far this one has stayed small enough, but it's right on the line ... he gets it checked every six months and last time it was close.

Well, my father met with his doctor today and I am asking for your continued prayers ... The aneurism has grown significantly and the Dr. feels it's time to address it. My dad will be meeting soon with a surgeon in Boston who specializes in this area. They'll discuss his options and go from there. We'll know more after this meeting.

From what I understand, this aneurism is in a spot where my father's organs (or at least his kidneys) tie in to his aorta. His systems will need to be shut down in order to perform the surgery. Fortunately, my dad is still relatively young (62), and in otherwise good health, so he's a good candidate for surgery. He's such a good, kind man ~ he and my mum live only a mile away and go to Mass with us every week. My boys just love their Papa!!

I'm sorry I'm rambling ... I'm just processing it all, and my first instinct after calling dh was to "talk" to all of you and ask for your prayers ... As always, thanks so much.

I just wanted to say how much all of your prayers have meant to me. My dad is meeting with the surgeon on Monday to discuss his options, so I will know more then.

I had a heart-to-heart with my mum about it the other day, and I was so saddened to learn my father (understandably) is scared and depressed. She said my dad wants to put off the surgery as long as possible in order to do "lots of things" like travel etc.

I am a nervous wreck, and yet - thanks, I know, to your prayers and my own - I have truly felt some peace about this the past week.

Anyway, this was a long post just to say I appreciate all of you, for your prayers, and especially for the way you all have encouraged my own faith over the past year.
