I have a neighbor across the street that was 5 days behind me and found out on Monday her baby had died in utero. The baby didn't measure past 16 weeks and she should have been almost 21 weeks. She was being induced this morning and as of this evening, things are progressing very slow. She has a 6 yr old DS but it would have been her husband's first child and they had been trying about 1 1/2 yrs. Her name is Kara.
Also, another friend that is 2 weeks ahead of me found out her baby has spina bifida and club foot and she's hoping to fly to CA for a trial prenatal surgery that can hopefully prevent the baby from needing a shunt in the brain after birth. If they get this surgery, she'll have to remain there until the baby's birth leaving her 4 older daughters for a period of 3-4 months here in TX. They won't know the severity of anything until the baby comes. Her name is Sara and the baby's name is Ruth.
Thank you,

Praying for both of these families!
How heartbreaking for Kara and her family, and so hard for Sara's family too! May Our Lady strengthen them all and may the Holy Spirit comfort and guide. I cannot imagine how hard it will be for Sara's family to be apart for months with such serious health problems with the baby.

Praying here, how sad both of these situations! I cannot imagine the sorrow for Kara and her husband, to loose their first child together, after all she's probably been through in life, and the difficulties of being a single Mom, and God finally sends her a husband, and then they loose their precious little one, and so far along. We will pray for them, and for grace to uphold their marriage in this trial, too!
And how difficult for Sara and her husband. It would be soooo hard to leave her other children for that long for the sake of the new little life they've been given, but yet we must do what we can for each child in their need. What a cross to carry for their family.
Hearing these difficulties puts each of our lives and little daily difficulties in perspective, that even the awful pregancy symptoms I've been having aren't as bad as loosing our precious one, or them having the health problems sweet little Ruth was diagnosed with, and having to leave my family for 3-4 months!
We will pray for these two families.
