Please pray for my son, Orlando.
My specific request is that he be accepted by the college to which he has applied (to begin in September) and that in the mean time he find a job and/or some satisfying voluntary work. He has been trying hard and so far, nothing. His confidence has been dented by recent events and this would help him so much. Please pray to St. Joseph and to Our Lady.
Jane.

Orlando holds a special place in my heart, Jane. He reminds me of my dear brother. Oh the worry I had for him during his teen and early adult years...and I was his sister, not mother! Now my brother, at age 40, is a special education teacher who works with troubled teens at our hometown "wrong side of the tracks" high school. He has been devoted to his first wife for 12 years and has three fantastic little girls. If someone had told me during those dark years that this would be his future, I would have rested a bit easier . Prayers continue!
Love,

Well you ladies were a little slow, but you got there! My son has just started his first job as a clerical assistant in the legal department of our local authority (local government). He likes the people and is enjoying it. However, his seven months' unemployment has convinced him that he really does want to go back to college and he is considering two good options: prayers there too for discernment and acceptance would be very much appreciated. (Angie, perhaps he really is quite like your brother: he wants to be a social worker. I loved hearing about your brother btw.) My son decided to request his discharge from the Territorial Army reserves as we became convinced that this was what was putting employers off, legislation against this practice notwithstanding. Within a week he had a job offer. So much for my country's commitment to Iraq. I must say I was relieved personally, as I believed my son too immature to make this commitment at this time. So things are looking up.
Everyone else is doing fine: there are some very nice Stations of the Cross booklets appearing ...
Thank-you for your prayers and be assured of mine for your intentions, even if I don't post.
Jane.

I missed this thread somehow, Jane.
Wanted to include my prayers for Orlando and your family.
I often think of him and Molly's son and I know that, through the prayers here and your mothering pleas, your requests will not go unheeded. God will guide them where they need to be.
