Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Today was my dd's first communion and it was a great day until this evening... all good things must come to an end and it seems that each time we are given a joyful day, the devil is enraged... anyway, someone in my husbands family yelled at her in very vulgar language, cursing my name, and then sprayed her with a water hose... she came to me in tears and I told her never to go back there again... they live a few houses down...

please send up a hail mary for her and if anyone wants to give me a word from Our Lord to tell her, something to console her, I would appreciate it

ps... this was an older adult that she was becoming very close to

Oh, Robin, I'm so sorry this has all happened. I will certainly pray for your daughter's peace of mind and for her emotional wounds to heal quickly.

I think that I would tell my daughter that this person is angry and unhappy about things in life that really don't have anything to do with her, and that she can always come to me for comfort, knowing I will love her and believe her and protect her.

And then I would talk about the very special sacrament she received today - and can go on receiving, all her life, as many times as she wants to.

And then I would hug her and let her snuggle and cry (if she wanted to) and maybe read a favorite story together or share a special treat.

I know I'm coming to this very late in the evening and that the boards will close in an hour or so for Sunday. I also know you'll surround your daughter with love tomorrow and every day.

I will pray for you and your daughter, particularly at Mass tomorrow.

You have so many crosses to bear right now...It is a privilege to pray for you. You're right, Satan despises happy families, and I will ask St. Michael to intercede for you and those you love so much.

Dear Robin, praying for you and your daughter. Nancy couldn't have said it better. Praying for that person too..who is very unhappy to have done such a thing to a little girl.

May God grant you and your daughter peace. May He always hold her in the palm of His hand. A special devotion to Our Lady and prayers to her would be a beautiful thing to do if you haven't done so already. She gives all such comfort when they ask...

Robin, praying for your daughter, for you and the rest of the family. I'm especially praying for the adult who acted so poorly.

Praying for her and all of you, Robin. It was lovely to meet you after Mass yesterday -- your children are beautiful, and I hope we'll see you again soon.

Sally
