During the winter season I was on the highway in the van with my children when it hit a patch of ice and went off the road into a ditch. Praise God everyone was O.K. and the van didn't hit anything.
The problem has been that ever since then the van is not driving properly and it is actually very frightening to drive at highway speeds (due to the steering being off). We've had it in the shop for several weeks and the mechanics have told us that they have never seen anything like it. It is better, but it still has some problems. I'm asking for prayers that God may give the mechanics wisdom to find out what is wrong with it so that it can be returned to the way it drove before. At this point the mechanics are stumped, but determined to get it back to normal.
We are hoping to drive to Georgia in June because my husband has a business conference in Atlanta and my aunt lives there. My aunt and godmother has been asking me for years to come and visit her with the children. She is also taking care of a priest friend of the family who is dying of cancer. If the van is not back to normal by then we won't be able to go.
Update: The van is a lot better, but it is still not 100%. The steering is looser than it should be. We've had three different mechanics take a look at it, and have had some parts replaced. If we have to live with it we will. We're starting to run out of options, but my husband wants to check and see if the insurance agent has any ideas.

Praying for you and your family.
Our van had been driving badly recently, we needed the dragline? repaired. From what I understand, when you turn the steering wheel one direction that front wheel is the master wheel and the dragline pulls the other wheel (slave wheel) along. I had hit a really bad pothole and banged something out of place. It got bad enough to have it towed in.

I am praying. Car troubles are so unnerving, aren't they? I will pray that you will find a way to make your van safe to drive...affordably...
