Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Please pray for her, and for my mother-in-law (her stepdaughter, but Grandma was a true mother to all her stepchildren). We don't know if there will be a funeral. Grandma was a devout Christian but her children aren't big churchgoers.

Also, please pray for my husband. If there's a funeral service this week, he won't be able to attend. He's very sad (Grandma was such a wonderful person!).

Thank you,

Nancy, I'll be praying. My husband's grandmother passed away last month and it was hard on us all.

God bless.

May the Lord have mercy on her soul and may her memory be eternal.

Praying your husband can attend a service if there is one and accept God's will in the decisions.

Thank you one and all for your prayers. We've had a strange time of it. There is no funeral, memorial or graveside service at all...I now totally appreciate our Catholic wake service and Mass of Christian Burial. It is amazing how lost dh and I are feeling without a formal way to pray for and remember Grandma.

How happy I am to be part of our beloved Church right now! All the signposts of our journey toward Heaven are highlighted by sacraments and liturgy. We gather to support each other through all of these significant moments. Christ is with us and the Community of Saints joins us in prayer.

I can't even imagine the empty life of a non-believer. I'm so thankful for my faith.

Thanks again for your prayers. They mean a lot to me right now!

Nancy,

Is it possible to have a private memorial Mass for grandma. A priest here was very kind to offer to do this for us when my dad's brother died - and we weren't sure what the family was going to decide. It was just our immediate family that attended.

We are praying for all - as it is so hard without the closure that comes with funeral and burial.
