A check was mailed to us late last week. It still has not arrived.
We need the money, like so many these days. I've not yet contacted the person who mailed it to us, because I don't want to seem grasping as in " *WHEN* did you mail it???", but I'd like to know when to not worry, when to worry, and when to freak out.
Of course, even better, would be a check in my mail box tomorrow afternoon.
PLEASE PLEASE, pray it gets here tomorrow. My oldest dd and I have planned a very small, simple trip to Norman (an hour away), just a part-day trip, for her 10th bday (which is today, but we're celebrating it by having a girls day out kind of thing)...but with that money not here, it will be a very close run thing, iykwim.
Please, pray it gets here tomorrow, so I can deposit it tomorrow afternoon/Saturday morning...

It didn't come.
Please pray it gets here asap--tomorrow (Saturday) or Monday. I really really need to get it into the bank asap, as DH has a trip planned next week (with the oldest three), and I need to have that money in the account for him to use...
This is the last, non-negotiable, trip he is taking, before he goes back to the job from Hellsville (and he found out today, he's going back onto the 3d shift, so 1130p-730a  ).
He won't be able to take the time off to go again for who knows how long...and so please, if you would, pray pray pray that the check arrives...
I have contacted my sister, to make certain when she sent it, but she's not answered yet...

Thank you for the birthday wishes. She is quite pleased with herself attaining the great and ripe old age of 10, lol.

I got an email from her today..apparently, in a moment of Hyperemesis induced 'silliness', she forgot to put a street on the envelope--just my name, city, state, and zipcode.
So it went back to her.
I'm hoping that it is already on its way back here, but her HEG is so bad (it lasts the entire pregnancy, and she's barely out of the first trimester) that she sleeps all weekend when she can...
So I don't know if I will hear anything more between now and Monday.
Prayers, please...
Btw, we had a wonderful day in Norman, didn't spend much $$...thank goodness...

Several years back, my husband fronted $4,500 for his brother and sister and himself to pay for their mom's funeral. His sister paid him back. His brother never did. We had six children at the time. I was heartbroken at the loss of all that money. That would have been a ton of groceries! I even called him to ask about whether he intended to repay my husband. He assured me that he would. But we moved on. Somehow, God always takes care of us. but I know first hand that it's hard to trust when you're in the thick of the struggle.

Well, my sister just Western Union'd it to our bank account. Much simpler than trying to wait on the mail.
Now, if only we'd done this two weeks ago...sigh
