Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could you ladies please say a little prayer for my husband's grandfather? He is 93, still living at home (alone until very recently), in very good health, has had a long, good life with lots of kids and grandkids and great-grandkids.

However, it appears the end may be coming soon. He is having mini-strokes every day- sometimes several times a day- and has already had to have surgery to remove blood that was pooling around his brain.

His wife died 35 years ago of cancer, and I know he's ready to go Home to see her and meet God.

He doesn't want to spend his last days in a hospital, so he is still at home with round the clock care from family right now. They are discussing what to do about the continuing mini-strokes.

I will be praying...he sounds like a wonderful person. I'm glad his family is honoring his wish to be at home.

Thank you, ladies! It's so hard to watch him struggling now when he's had such a good, full life.

I feel guilty, but I just keep thinking how he must be wishing he would just go before his health deteriorates and he does have to go to a hospital or nursing home- and I agree with him. He just wants to go peacefully in his sleep at home. I pray he will.

He is such a dear, sweet old man.

Grandpa was admitted to the hospital last night. It appears he has some sort of blockage in his neck that is partially blocking blood flow to his brain, which is causing the 'mini-strokes'.

They will be transferring him to a larger hospital soon and running tests to get more information on the blockage.

I know he must be so frustrated to be at the hospital. DH, DS (the 6 y/o) and my father-in-law (Grandpa's son) just went to go visit him for awhile.
