Ladies can you please pray for me . I am so hurt in my heart . I've been at the end of the gossip batton . I of course can know the why people do this etc. but it does not mean it dosen't hurt .
I keep having Fr. Pinto talk come into my head reminding me how goddip is sin and people usually do it as attention seeking etc. so just to pray for compassion for that person .
knowing the difference when speaking of others via true & real experience as example of lessons learned is not gossip gossip is done in a purposeful , mean and vengful way and it never has any validity etc. as example and a learning expereince a councelour will not give a name to that example or belittle or try and harm the person etc.
those who like gossip are just a more subtle version of the bully but can also be 1,00 times harmful . I think of teens who have taken thier own lives because they had been tormented by gossip of others etc.

If you encounter someone gossiping of another please confront them on it then and there ! I had to do it with a nieghbour once . She was saying stuff about my very next door nieghbours . she did not know them at all this woman gossips to seek attention , she is very very lonely , but I just said to her " that is not true . I know ( nieghbours names ) very well and that is just not true " she never has gossiped with me ever since . I prayed to God to heal her lonely heart for her to see I will still talk with her and enjoy her company without the gossip and it worked !
It does bring comfort to me praying for the person gossiping about me but it still hurts because she was a close friend . Thanks so much , Roxie

Praying specially for you Roxie. We've been on the nasty end of gossip for over 2 years - and from a source we never would have expected (another Catholic family).

Lots of prayer, lots of perseverance have got us through this far.

I just wanted to pop in and say a big big Thanks ! to you all I've been praying much with Mother Teresa to have love in my heart and have compassion and empathy for people who are bullies , They rtuely are so lonely and feel unloved is all .
Nissa I am praying for Your family too , house stuff , baby belly and all . I found out yrs ago via message boards about gossip too catholic homeschoolers are just as capable of being pushy bossy bullies as any other people
Thank You again , I think perapring for lent is truely calming my heart , bringing much needed peace .

We have also had our fair share of gossip said about our family.
I just say nothing, pray and go about my business of serving my husband and family.
I always pray for the people who have gossiped and eventually, God always has worked it out. He is our best defender!
