Little William is on his way to Children's Hospital.  He was having trouble breathing, so she took him to the local hospital where they found he had fluid in his lungs. They have transfered him to CH because they aren't able to do any more for him there. I just spoke to Bob's parents who are very distraught and they said Kim is hysterical and they are fearing for his life.
I was just holding him on Friday and he looked so healthy and peaceful. I can't imagine how she must be feeling. My heart is breaking for her.
I will update as soon as I hear more.

Update- 6:00 pm EST
William has a severe case of RSV. Apparently, its pretty common, but can be very severe/life-threatening in infants that young because their airways are so small. Because its a virus, there really is very little they can do for it except try and keep him going so that his body can fight it off. He is now at Children's Hospital. They medi-vacced him up there. They have him on oxygen. Thank you for all the prayers!

Praying now, Ruth. Please give Kim hugs from me. I felt that way---hysterical with dread--- with my Joey who was critical at a couple of points, while in the NICU, and then again when he had to return to the hospital for RSV a couple of months after birth---and I dealt with it by:
1) asking for prayers from holy people, our priests and parish community; 2) had our priests come each time and do the Blessing of the Sick for babies.
That was all that brought me consolation and got me through those times.
I pray Kim is sustained and consoled.
