My mom just called me. Her best friend, a man who has been more family than friend to all of us for over 30 years, has to have a quadruple bypass tomorrow at 8:00 a.m. at the University of MN.
It sounds like he realized something was wrong and called 911. The ambulance took him to his local emergency room, and then transported him to the University.
They did an angio and determined he is 95% blocked. His sister is there right now and we are all making arrangements to get down there.
Please pray for him. He is a lapsed Catholic who has recently been asking all of us lots of questions about our religion.
************ 1/18 UPDATE ************
Bob made it out of surgery. They only had to do a triple and not a quadruple bypass. The surgeon told us that Bob "needs to get religion and lose 100 pounds." We told him we are already working on the "getting religion" part.
