I would like to request prayers for my mom during this holiday season. She lives in Alaska and this is her first Christmas alone in over 50 years -- my father passed away last spring. Her children all live down here in the lower 48, and none can manage the travel with their families to visit her, and her health is not good enough to permit her to travel to spend the season with one of us.

She has a lot of church and neighbor support, but during this season that is probably not enough to fill the hole. I know it will be difficult for her and I would like her to be covered with prayers.

You could also pray for me since I feel so very far away from her geographically -- this is a difficult situation especially now that she is alone. I could use the Holy Spirit's gifts of wisdom and counsel and all that.

Praying for you all, especially those who are having a tough Christmas season for one reason or another.

I will pray that your mom is filled with every peace and hope this holy season, as well as for your wisdom and discernment in this matter, and future matters as you try so hard to continue honoring your mother - even if that must be from afar.
