For private reasons, our family will no longer provide foster care. Thank you for your many prayers and sacrifices offered these past two years as we prepared to become licensed, welcomed children into our home, and for a special intention these past few months...months which have been among the most painful of my life. Honestly, I'm heart-broken ... dismayed ... pummeled in some ways. That's the ugly news that's hard to share . The beautiful news is that our family is united and has drawn closer to each other and God, a most amazing grace. In many ways I'm doing well. I cannot thank you enough for your intercession on our behalf .
I humbly beg you to continue to pray for:
All children in foster care and their families, especially our 6 spiritually adopted children.
The protection and support of all loving foster families, especially our friends.
The protection of all families from unjust, inhumane, and un-Godly entanglements with Child Protective Services.
An immediate reaffirmation and ongoing infusion of Christian fundamental truths about justice and the common good, beginning with the family. (See Manhattan Declaration.)
The few people who know our details and have helped us with their expertise, compassion, protection of privacy, prayers, and steadfastness over this long haul.
Our family, especially my husband and children who I love and admire so very much. And for my mama's heart that will need tender care to continue dealing with many loss issues over the coming months.
"Thank you" isn't enough to say to this gathering of prayerful friends . I promise to pray daily for all intentions of members, both shared and private. Also, if my experience can help members who are foster parents or considering fostering, I'm available via PM.
Sharing this update during Advent is so helpful for me, and I hope its not a burden . God is so good to bring us together as we help each other carry our crosses. I'm privileged to join my sisters in Christ - many who suffer so much more than I do - as we try to clear our minds and hearts of all clutter, worry, and disappointment that tempt to distract us from preparing and being ready for the coming of the Lord!
Love, love, love,

I am praying for you, for your children, born to you and spiritually adopted by you, and for your husband.
Most of all I am praying for the agencies that oversee these services...for better training and funding, for more caring staff who have enough time to devote to each case, for courage to speak up for truth.

I haven't been here long but what a gift to open your home and heart to foster children. May each child's life be lifted because of what you and your family gave to each of them. God's peace be with you all as you transition from this season of your life.
Best,

Oh Angie...what a road...I just think of Mother Teresa's words, "you are called to be faithful not successful" ..faithful..that you are my friend!!! And in the eyes of God, that faith is a mysterious spiritual success that just knocks the worldly idea of it for a six!
I pray that you and your dear family continue to see the hidden graces and treasures in this hard journey.
