Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've written and deleted this 5 times --I'm just feeling very crushed lately under many things: resposiblity for everything yet control/power over nothing, loneliness, etc.

One specific -- dh's company was just bought out, his job situation is precarious and will be for months (i.e. it could be a year or more before we know if he's "made the cut", our house hunting on hold indefinitely

Other things - marriage, kids, homeschooling, etc. None a horrible crisis (moderate maybe? )but added together are more than one person with no one to talk to can handle, YKWIM? All my IRL friends have moved/drifted into other lifestyles over the last years.

Praying for all your intentions, and thank you for praying for mine.

Praying for you, Amy...and it's true that financial pressures can make every other issue in life seem so, so much worse.

Asking St. Joseph to intercede for you and your dh...

Praying for you, Amy. I can especially relate to the IRL friends drifting off and really needing their support and listening ear.

Dear Amy - I am so sorry that you have so many *issues* going on at the same time. I am praying that things settle down and that you are able to get some peace of mind.

Peace,

Praying, Amy. It seems like you have things in the correct order though, I noticed. Marriage first, then the kids then life/homeschooling. I would focus on your relationship with God first and put it all in His hands. (i.e. give up ) Then, start trying to be a real source of encouragement and peace for your husband, even if you don't "feel" that way. Work-related stress is much more stressful than we even realize for men I think. So, if you can provide comfort for him and be a source of joy, that will in turn bring you joy. (i.e. If he is happy you will be happy.) Then, move on to the kids etc.

I think this lifestyle is sometimes crazy and hectic since it really stretches us to our breaking point! So, give up, give it all to God, and ask the Blessed Mother to help you sort if all out too. Our surrender always works miracles. Anyway, I always give her things that seem impossible. Prayers though for your peace of mind and job security for your spouse.

Also, I sometimes noticed just taking it easy for a day or two and noticing all the little things we tend to miss in life's rush, does wonders.....how cute the little kid's voices are, just sitting and watching them play, just hanging out while husband works on something and seeing how effortless he makes things look, fixing a nice dessert for everyone, just because, watching the leaves change on the trees and just being still and silent. When you are feeling crushed, you are probably too overwhelmed and not rested. So, take a teacher work day or two and just soak in all the happy things in life. It will pay off for you to take a day off even if it feels like that is the last thing you should do, but you need to have a mental break now and then too.

God bless!

Thank you all for your prayers

Kim, I do every single thing that you mentioned, and it doesn't help. THAT's why I feel so horrible - I do everything everyone recommends, and I'm still crushed and lonely. So I ask for prayers.

The one thing I haven't done, and cannot do, but think it would help, is to go away, really away, by myself for a week. I need to start fresh, really fresh.

Thanks again, ladies, your prayers mean the world to me.
