My dad and his wife are in VA where the nor'easter is coming through. They are in a low lying area and had flooding with Isabelle several years ago and lost lots of things in the garage and all the duct work under the house.
This one is predicted to bring in more water than Isabelle.
So far with the high tide last night they've had 4" of water in their garage and although it's receding, the next high tide is predicted to bring the water 3" higher than last night. They are safe and have moved what they can to higher ground but the anticipation of all the clean-up, replacing ducts, worry of mold etc... is daunting.
Prayers are appreciated for my folks and all those in the area threatened by flood.

Update:
The threat of inside flooding is over and they were fortunate not to lose power at all. Their garage had 1 and 1/2' of water at the highest, which leaves a lot to clean up but they seem in good spirits- especially since the water is only at the top of the driveway currently and still receding.    I have yet to hear about how the area in general fared- the back end of their lane is impassable so a lot of folks are still stuck at home.
