Please pray for Lily's big surgery Friday morning. She will be having both sides of her lower jaw "broken", they cut through the bone and then place a metal appliance on both sides....then we turn the pins on this for 2-3 weeks to lengthen the jaw, and the appliance stays in for another 4-6 weeks. So...hopefully by early December, we will be back in getting the appliance taken off in outpatient surgery!! They are also "re-repairing" Lily's cleft palate, the initial surgery wasn't completely successful, and she has a hole still in her palate. So...metal on both sides of her head for close to two months..and arm restraints on to keep things out of her recovering mouth. Wait a minute, this feels like Lent!! 
Please pray for above average pain control, for Lily's little spunky spirit to prevail, but not to fight too much all of the invasive things she has to endure....for good health and safe travel...and fortitude and strength for this mama who is heartbroken my little sweetie has to go through so much just to get a decent airway.  I am all about God's Will being done..but the rubber meeting the road is hard, hard, hard.
I'll try to call Marilyn and she can update later Friday, it is close to a five hour surgery....
I cherish all of you and am praying for all of your intentions!!

Oh Sweetie, it sounds like a very long road but I will be praying for this road to be towards always doing God's Will and for little Lily to be held in Mary's Mantle!

We will be praying for sweet Lily and for you my friend - we have already started the "Lily prayer marathon". Offering up life in the trenches right now for all of you - and again marvelling at your strength as you live with so much on a daily basis.

We'll be praying. I was kind of hoping I could get there since you will be waiting for so long, but all my babysitters will be gone. Still, we'll be praying mightily.
