I’m asking for prayer for our family (the Quebral family), and the Vida family (my sister in law’s family) in the Philippines. There was a horrible storm, and massive flooding in the Manila area. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,556880,00.html There are at least 284 dead at this point. There are more storms to come. Our family has suffered material loss (cars, office buildings, etc.). We’re thankful that as far as we’ve been told from family there to this point, no loss of life for our family (thanking God).

Some actual facebook updates from our family:
~Our house is okay. But the office and clinic of my dad submerged completely. So the computer, laptops, files, ref, medical books and etc are all gone. Plus our car!
~Steady lang(only)! pag-uwi ko nag group hug kami ng pamilya ko eh. (When I arrived home my family had a group hug) Nakakaiyak! (We cried)
~i can't even stand watching the news. A lot of people died. :(
~....although he was stranded in the hospital overnight. Until dirty kitchen lang yung flood. (Flood only got the kitchen dirty) Thank God hindi pumasok (it did not enter) inside. Yeah, the houses near the filinvest gate was super damaged and submerged.
Reading these straight from our family really makes me understand what they’re enduring there. Otherwise, having family and friends half a world away sometimes seems surreal. But it’s not surreal. It’s very real and that entire region needs our prayers. If you could please pray for our family, and all of those in the Philippines affected by this devastation, we would be very grateful. Thank you so much.

The Phillipines are bracing for another Typhoon. We have family who have lost so much, and are enduring such difficulty. Thankfully, so far every person is OK. But the devastation in that country is really bad. We are praying for all of those in Indonesia and Samoa who are also enduring much hardship.
