I have no idea how this happened, but someone stole my debit card number. I have my card with me and it is set up not to be used online, so it must have happened while I was paying with it.

We cannot afford the charges and the bank won't put the money in the account until it's investigated. Mortgage has to be paid, but now there will not be enough in the account. I don't know what we'll do. I was told it would 2 weeks to be investigated. Please pray it gets resolved quickly.

We just had this happen to us a few months ago. ( Our number was stolen when we paid at a restaurant that we ate our anniversary dinner at )

It really is horrible

I'll say a prayer for you and this intention.

BTW I would call the Mortgage company and explain the situation and see what they can do.

Oh, Ruth...this is just awful! I agree with Mimi - I'd call the mortgage company and explain the predicament. I would think that generally if your account is in good shape they will be fairly understanding.

I'll pray that resolution is speedy for you! We've been through this once and it is a mess to untangle!!! This is a good reminder for me to keep a vigilant watch on our account through online monitoring!

Thank you for your prayers. I spoke to the mortgage company and asked if they could extend the due date without any penalties, but they said no. I can call after I pay it a few days late and ask them to remove the charges only once in the lifetime of the loan and since we've never done that, they should be able to do that for us.

I'm still wondering how this could have happened since I can't use my debit card on line. We have set it up that way. I will be covering up my card when I used it at stores.
