Good morning, folks!
I'd like to request some prayers for dh's appointment today at 1:30 pm. We are meeting with a new doctor to get a second opinion about his hernia treatment. I first posted about it here in '06 and here in '07. The wound opened up again while we were in Italy, and he started seeing the doctor again in June. He watched it for a while and finally decided a third surgery would be the answer. It's scheduled for 9/1, unless this other doctor tells him otherwise. I'm not 100% comfortable with the original doctor because he didn't sound like he knew how to deal with this. I really would like someone to see "the big picture" with my dh's other health issues (allergies, sleep apnea, etc.). I'm hoping this doctor is it, or at least can confirm for us that what the original doctor is thinking (3rd surgery and trimming of the unincorporated mesh) is the way to go. The one thing that consoles me if we do have to go with the original doctor is that he's Catholic and even goes to the same church we do. Please pray that we are able to resolve this soon. I will update with a decision tonight when we get back.

update: looks like we're going to surgery 9/1. The new dr. assured us that it doesn't look like mesh rejection to him or that the other health issues should be a concern... and that 3rd surgery (hopefully last) is a reasonable option. we've done our legwork and we are now leaving this entirely in God's hands. His will be done! thank you so much for your prayers!!

Ok, Stef...so surgery on the 1st...that's next Tuesday! Wow! You can count on our prayers! I sure do hope this one is the one!!! I know your dear husband must be sooooo tired of dealing with this and just ready for healing already! Prayers coming!

Praying, Stef! I had assumed that hernia surgery was pretty uncomplicated, but Tim has had trouble with his too. Praying that this will be the last time your dh needs to have this repaired!! And also praying that no other issues crop up or are complicated as a result of surgery. May the Holy Spirit guide the surgeon's hands.
