after dh's health insurance through his employer for our family went to over 500.00 per month with 3500 deductibles, we chose to purchase our state provided health insurance.

When I got pregnant, they moved me off of our family card, and to a "mom/baby" card, however, the charges remained the same.

After I notified them that I miscarried, they cancelled that card (coverage) but just yesterday by automated message let me know that I have been dropped totally, and forever!

Due to our governments major debt (Blago!) the system has now been flagged to drop any adult who is not pregnant whenever the system is tripped by a "change" (me trying to get back on our family insurance card)

however, my dh is "protected, and grandfathered in" because there has been no activity on his status.

I lost my 700.00 medication which has to be refrigerated when our power was out for over 3 days recently. I DO have until July 31 covered, (and hope new medicine will arrive by then) but it really seems like I will be uninsured as of Aug.

Please pray for us as we try to figure out what to do.
I know maybe we had it coming to us by even getting mixed up with the state, but 240.00 per month seemed just , fair, and resonable for our family income and the coverage seemed to be fine.

please be assured of my prayers for everyone's intentions on the board. I just can't keep up with y'all!

Lisa - this might not be true! I was dropped due to making too much money for a short time. I called to talk to the case worker who said what you were told. I called another time, cannot remember why, and was told to wait a few weeks to see what happened. Well due to Blago, no one is being dropped from IL KidCare/FamilyCare. They keep you on for 6 mos to allow you to find additional insurance. You can ask for an addition 6 mos if you are unable to acquire insurance by then. Also, you will prob receive in the mail a pink medical card that covers women's health issues (paps, pregnancies, post partum, and sadly birth control).

All of this happened to me in the past 6 months. Keep the faith, you will prob get another card in the mail with your name on it
