Thank you. I've been praying for my friendships for about a month now and I know that these friends are questioning in love and I've asked some of them to come along side me and read the Scriptures and to talk with me too. I want them to know that I am searching the Word for myself and asking to be led by the precious Holy Spirit.

The biggest concern seems to be the Eucharist and the real presence of Jesus in it.

As much as it hurts, in a way I am so thankful that I have friends who love and care so much about me and my family and I pray that as they read and speak to me that the Lord will reveal His Truth to them as well.

Yes, I imagine this is so because it is is either uttterly crazy and mad or it is fabulously awesome and mindblowing....

..it's FABUOUSLY awesome and mindblowing!!!

But I do remember reading somewhere that a protestant once questioned a Catholic about the Eucharist..something to the effect of, "If I could believe it I'd be on my knees from the moment I entered the church door and wouldn't want to leave!" This is why I believe protestants make the most incredible converts, they are are new 'leaven' in the Church today IMO. These are the people in the Bible who have discovered the pearl of great price and sold everything to acquire it, sadly some pay an enormous price.

I have a friend who was Catholic and then married a Baptist man and left the faith. She had a period where she questioned her previous decision and remember saying to her, "When you re-discover and truly know that Jesus is truly present, body, blood, soul and divinity then every other church teaching will fall into place much easier." and she said to me, "Did we ever believe that?"....that was the poor catechetics of our times, she did not get the teachings of her faith from 12 years of Catholic schooling or in the home.

I'm praying for you Theresa and your dear friends, that in all of this, friendships will not be lost.
