Newborn baby Patrick, of CCM list member April (mommybuehler) is having a liver biopsy today for alpha antitrypsin deficiency to determine amount of cirrhosis. Please pray for baby and his parents and family. Mommy is especially worried because the biopsy is not without risks.
Sts. Cosmas and Damien, brother physicians please be with Patrick's surgeons. St. Patrick please intercede for baby!

Oh, I'll be praying. Maybe that's who we were offering Aidan's hospitalization for. If anyone has an "in" with liver and surgery intercessors, it would be him. Praying for baby Patrick!

wow, Victoria.....I did not know you knew April......I also did not know she was pregnant. Is this number 6?

Chari, I am blessed to say April is a close friend. Patrick is baby #5, he has two older brothers and two older sisters (all under age 9).
I do not know the Wantlands. Do they live in Tucson too?
I will post an update when I speak with April again.
Also, the entire family now has to be tested for this liver disorder, so that is an additional worry for April.
Thank you to everyone for the prayers!

Oh, what a stress! Please tell April I am praying for her. And, congrats on her newest blessing! We "met" when she emailed me a long time ago.......maybe had only two kids?.........to ask about homeschooling. Turns out she is friends with Mrs. Wantland, a grandmother of many Catholic homeschoolers......who has kind of become my adopted godmother. I can't wait to come meet her...(she lives in Phoenix)...and Angie......and YOU! I am tentatively thinking around June of 2007........as we have a family reunion in Las Vegas then.
anyway....back to the topic........prayers from the Bryans, in snowy California! Two feet today!

Update: Biopsy went well. Patrick's liver does not have any scarring or cirrhosis. He is responding to the meds well.
The four siblings were tested. Sister age 2 does have the same condition, but thankfully as of yet it has not affected the liver. Sister age 4 is a carrier of illness. Two older brothers are completely fine.
Thank you all very much for the prayers. April said she was more composed than she expected for the biopsy surgery and so your prayers were felt!
