Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could you all pray for me tonight around supper time? I have a meeting with my girl scout co-leaders. There has been complaints about how I do my "job" as a leader. I do not feel that I am in the wrong, and do not have any details. Please pray that I accept the complaints gracefully and respond appropriately.

Thanks

Thanks for the prayers. I could definately feel them. I was able to not cry too much. The "problem" these parents have with me seems to be a personality clash. They agree (thru the other leader - they were not at the meeting) that my work with their daughters is fine.

Main problem is that they all grew up in this small town, are lifelong friends, and I am an outsider. And a homeschooler - b/c homeschooling means that I do not think their school is good enough for my kids.

Sigh

I guess we are back in high school.

Thanks again.

Oh, Angi...I couldn't post, but I was praying. What a sad outcome to face. I've been there.

to you!

Find some like-minded friends and go out to breakfast together this weekend...it'll make you feel better!

I'll pray for you as this situation resolves one way or the other!

Dear Angi,
I feel for you. Take Jennifer's advice. You are a volunteer, for heaven's sake, why can't people be grateful for those, like you, who are so willing to donate precious time to help their children?
Prayers for this situation and a big hug, too!

I feel for you, Angi. People can be so petty sometimes!

Do you think that if these other leaders got to know you a bit better things would resolve? Can you carry on being a leader with your daughter's troop?

Praying for you for things to resolve amicably for you. I really understand the feeling about being an outsider - that's why I like to come here and visit the blogs of other like-minded moms!

Thanks everyone. I am continuing as a leader, this will not change. At some point, I may start a homeschool troop. The only 2 problems are that there is only 1 other HS family in my town and that I want my girls to get to know some local kids.

The other leaders are not the problem, just the messengers. It is other moms in the troop that have a problem. They are all friends, all went to high school together, and all see threatened by me and the fact that I HS. I have been asked to refrain from speaking about our school during meetings. I will comply, but I will not ask my daughters to do the same.

I am so sorry that you have had to go through this. I will pray for you as you continue on as the leader.

I will pray, too, that these ladies come to the realization that they are blessed to have you as their daughters' leader and will begin to treat you in a more charitable manner.

God Bless,
Stacy in MI

I am so sorry that you have to go through this. I'll pray for all those concerned.

Are there any homeschooling families in any towns nearby? I have hs friends who live an hour away from each other. They take turns visiting back and forth and even meet half way at times. They met at a homeschooling meeting and they both got their kids involved in some of the group activities so that's how they became friends. Just an idea...

Jody

We have another meeting tomorrow at 6, this time with a council representative.
'
This is the time when the other leader will share exactly what the mother's are saying. I am ready to put this behind me. I have seen all of the mothers since I found out. 2 are civil and act like nothing is wrong, 1 is giving me the silent treatment. Oh well.

I have decided that I cannot change how people see me, and if want to be miserable, that is their choice, not mine.

So far they have not had a problem with the program we provide for their daughters, and the girls are my concern, not the moms.

Thanks for the prayers.

This continues, Angi? Another meeting?

I'm so sorry. I pray that you will be animated tomorrow night with Our Lady's sense of Charity and Justice.

to you for volunteering yourself to work with these girls.
