Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Kim says that knowing you're praying for her has been such a comfort! I just spoke with her. She's not healing well (blisters on leg, etc.) but the worst part now is that her HMO primary care doctor thought she was a burn victim when she saw him today! (Of course she went home and cried.) He said he had no idea how to treat her. She's very upset about that. I talked with her about dealing with HMO's, patient advocates, etc. Fortunately, she has kept her sense of humor and sounds like she's ready to tackle the medical bureaucracy.

My mother-in-law is being run ragged by the little girls. We've suggested that Kim and the girls swap places (so Kim is with her mom and the girls are with their dad), but Kim is very, very nervous about leaving the area because my m-i-l lives out in the desert. There's a small hospital out there, but she's worried.

So...I'd assess things as improving but messed up. If Kim can't recover away from her (bouncy!!!) little girls, she's going to be miserable...but, of course, she really misses all three of the girls. Please pray that her HMO can find her a specialist who can continue to treat her as she recovers. Her current doctor can't handle the condition she has. And, please pray for my m-i-l. She's doing what she thinks is best, but it's really hard on her.

Thanks...once again...I just know your prayers have helped Kim heal, avoid surgery, and keep a smile on her face. These things are all real miracles.

Praying for Kim to find a fantastic specialist. Praying for your m-i-l and all of Kim's family. How difficult!
