I am asking for prayers about two matters for Joseph. I know they are not major things, but I need wisdom and guidance.
He seems to be scared of receiving Holy Communion. I think he is worried about doing it "right" -- so much so that he won't even try to act it out at home. Please pray that he gets over his fear and that we are shown when it is the right time for him to receive his FHC.
He is apparently starting puberty. Agh! I had hoped for more time. He can't yet handle personal care -- he only recently became daytime potty-trained, and he is *not* ready to handle his own hygiene. Also, autistic kids often regress in puberty, and many boys get aggressive. Please pray for us that this is minimized or even absent in his case. Pray for us that we handle his needs appropriately. I do have some resources, but this has happened sooner than I thought -- he's only nine!! (The doctor just checked him over today.)

Deborah, may I please share with you something amazing that happened to my friend's daughter, who too was not yet ready to receive Holy Communion?
Her Mom received the advice (from a good friend) that the next time she went up to receive Holy Communion, upon arriving back at their pew, to kiss her daughter on her cheek, allowing some of Jesus/the Host, to touch her face, as she kissed her.
She did this, and at the end of Mass, her daughter turned to her and announced, "I am ready to make my First Communion!"
