Two quick requests:
My toddler is sick (vomiting and diarrhea) and that's not fun for him. He's drinking Pedialyte but not peeing much. I put a call into the Doctor but they didn't seem to think I should come in .. and of course it's Friday night. Please pray he gets better quick and that we don't need to spend $100 and several hours at the ER this weekend when the Doctor's office is closed.
Also, I have been having A LOT of trouble sleeping lately. My mind just races and I can't shut it down. I'm exhausted but can't rest and when I do try to catch a nap, someone always interrupts. And at night my older son has been coming into my room at night after I finally fall asleep and waking me up, which starts the whole lying awake with mind racing problem all over again ... Then last night with the baby vomiting every twenty minutes ... I'm so tired. Please lift me up in prayer.

Praying, praying.
To stop racing thoughts, have you tried replacing them with prayer? I've been helped by either saying a rosary or repeating a short prayer or bible verse over and over again.

Thanks, Angie. I have tried replacing with prayer. Sometimes it helps a little, sometimes not. But this afternoon your prayers must have helped because I managed to fall asleep for about an hour and a half once my husband got home and took over with the baby.
I think part of my problem is feeling responsible for everything and knowing if a child wakes up or needs anything or the phone rings or someone is at the door or the cat needs out or the chicks need water or WHATEVER, it's all on me. I'm always cringing, waiting for the next interruption or the other shoe to drop. My plans and schedules float through my head and taunt me, like "How dare you sleep when there is so much left undone." I need to get organized, because it's really the out-of-control, panicked, afraid-to-drop-a-ball feeling I have all the time that's getting to me.
Oh, and your other prayer worked, too -- the Dr. called back and offered us a 1015 appointment tomorrow to see how he's doing.  Praise God. Ten dollars and a quick in-and-out with a familiar face is a lot better than $100 and hours in the scary ER. I realize how fortunate we are to have health care at all, though.

You are welcome! I'm glad to hear that you got some sleep and that you weren't called to face a worse case scenario. My prayers continue for you...I know how hard it is to wrestle with racing thoughts. (I'm so into this topic of racing thoughts that I have shared what I'm learning about them here.)

Also, he's still vomiting at least once or twice a day and not eating or drinking much. And still has diarrhea. Please continue to pray. We're going back to the doctor at 2pm. My husband and older son ended up getting sick after the baby but each of them threw up for less than a day and the diarrhea was a one-time thing for both. The baby has been a different story, this is day 5. I'm very concerned.
Also, does anyone have experience with Reverse Osmosis water filters becoming contaminated? I have reason to believe that's what happened here.

We spent last night in the hospital getting IV fluids and blood tests. They still don't know what's wrong. He will not drink or eat. He vomited three times yesterday after we thought he was improving, so they prescribed Zofran. He hasn't thrown up since, but the refusal of food and liquids is so scary. He's fussy and miserable and we're just worried about him. Please cover him in prayer.
