Dear Ladies,
This is a small but ardent request.
I am responsible for organizing the Mardi Gras party at my parish (how a girl from WI of Irish/German descent came to be in charge of a Mardi Gras party is another story...).
Back to the prayer request: the oven in the church hall is not working and was supposed to be fixed two weeks ago. They are waiting for parts. The party is entirely self-catered and there will be about 150 guests in attendance expecting a lovely HOT meal!
Please pray, through the intercession of St. Martha, that the parts would arrive today or tomorrow and that the stove/oven could be fixed by Sunday...and that the party would be a happy time for everyone involved.
If you would, please say a prayer for me that I would remain calm and joyful, even in the face of adversity, knowing that our Lord works all things to the good.
Our wonderful pastor is going to give up the rectory kitchen on Sunday and Tuesday if he must!
Thank you so much in advance. I will have some small portion of peace knowing that others are praying.
God is good all the time. All the time, God is good!

Oh my. No stove. Mardi Gras. Please St. Martha, intercede on behalf of this intention and assist in the plans and practicals.
Praying for your peace and calm, Lara. I'd be freaking out by now!

Pathetically bumping this, because I really need all the prayers that I can get...
Just found out my darling husband needs to fly back to WI this weekend to attend the funeral of a dear uncle...needless to say, that leave me with 8 kids, a party for 150 to plan and a stove that still doesn't work!
God is good all the time, all the time, God is GOOD!
Thanks in advance!

Oh my stars, Lara! It's time to call in the sweet ladies of the parish, my dear! You need reinforcements!
I am praying for you!

I think I need some NESCO electric roasting pans. I had a dream about them last night...surely the darling older woman of the parish still have those, right?
Ahh...the great adventure of it all...so many unknowns!
Thanks for your prayers...I am feeling quite sane, right now...Hopefully that is not the first symptom of a nervous breakdown!
God is good, all the time...All the time, God is good!!

THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR PRAYERS!!!
GOD IS GOOD, ALL THE TIME. ALL THE TIME, GOD IS GOOD!
Today as I was picking my husband up from work to bring him to the airport so that he could fly to WI for his uncle's funeral, I looked down at the clock and realized that it was 3:49pm...on Friday...the HOUR OF MERCY!
I asked all my children to join me in prayer, asking our Lord to please let the stove be usable for the party, knowing that our Lord will not refuse an earnest request at this time.
Well, when I arrived at the church for our homeschool group's "Family Night", Father and I went to check on the stove...and the handy man at the parish had been able to jerry-rig it well enough to get it to work!
A huge weight lifted off my shoulders.
THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all of your kind prayers.
Peace to your day...and night...and may our Lord bless you richly during this Lenten season.
