My Mom suffered from a stroke in April 2008, she is confined to a bed (she can only move her right arm) and can not speak.
The nursing home she is in had a fire this past Monday evening. It was during their dinner time. All residents were in the dining room except my mom who was in her room. When the fire was detected they moved all the residents outside and close all fire doors. Well they essentially forgot my mom and the fire was right across from her room. A gentleman who works for the home remembered my mom and with a lady who works in the kitchen they reentered into the home to rescue my mom. They went through the flames to her room picked her up and got her out with only a bump on her head.
I know in my heart that mom would not be here today if it was not for the brown scapular that we had with her. That our Lady and our Lord kept her safe (as well as her rescuers) from harm.
Please say a prayer of thanks for these 2 wonderful people who saved her life. And remember your brown scapular.
(no residents or staff were harmed in this fire, Thanks be to God!)
