This is my one sister that I actually get along with--single mother (divorced, her son is 9). She had some surgery done in December, to take of some issues with her septum (it was broken years ago, and shoved to one side--the doctor's speculated that that was causing her recurrent sinus problems/headaches). While they were in there, they found some growths. They removed them and sent them for biopsy. Well, she got the results last week. Apparently, they are cancerous. What kind, my mom didn't know. My sister is a very private person, and really doesn't share much of any info with anyone. So I doubt we will hear anything else...Mom did say that my sister didn't give her a stage number, but a color? Red or blue? I don't get that, either....but oh well...

The doctors apparently gave my sister two choices--leave it alone and monitor it, or radiation. My sister is leaning towards the leave it alone for now method, from what my mother said. Of course, my sister didn't tell me. My mom asked her straight out, and that is the only reason she found out. Mom asked me to put her (sister) on every prayer list I can...its the first time my mom has mentioned praying at all, in years and years. She said she prayed most of last night. She is very worried and scared and doesn't know what to think/do, since my sister is so...private and isn't likely to say much more about what is going on...

PLEASE pray for my sister, my parents, and my nephew. My sister doesn't have much of a support network. No husband..my other sister and I are both out of state. My parents both work full time...her ex-husband is....less than stellar. She has a few friends, but really, not many (especially given her stressful job, and the running around she has to do for her son and his activities)...

Please pray for Alicia, my sister...my parents, and my nephew...

I will pray for Alicia, Rachel and also for your mother's peace in this. It is very stressful I know for a parent to watch a child with cancer...very, very troubling.

Thank you ladies..

When I was on the phone with my mother, she said that she was so scared...she doesn't know how her grandmother did it (my great-grandmother lost two of her four children before the age of 40--one to breast cancer that metastasized to her brain, and the other one to complications from treatment for TB--this was back in the 50s, btw).

So my mom isn't sure how to handle this...and prayers would, as always, be appreciated...
