Our beloved visiting priest, Father Gerard, needs the help of prayer warriors everywhere. It is a complicated, sad, long story, but he is visiting from South Africa, suffered a heart attack in October, has no health insurance and needs a pacemaker. He's only 45, but he is "planning his last days".
Our diocese and parish are ignoring the issue. Through nothing short of a miracle, my mil (a nurse practitioner) was able to find a surgeon to donate his services and he's going to help try to get a pacemaker company and our hospital to do the same. I get the impression from the surgeon that this seems likely, but until the pacemaker is in, Father needs all the prayers anyone can spare!
Father only found out about the surgeon on Saturday and said for the first time he feels hopeful. Yesterday I asked him if he slept well Saturday night, and he said he was too excited to sleep. He was like a child, so precious.
Please pray!!
P.S. And if anyone has connections at a pacemaker company or has contacts high enough up in the Inova Health System, feel free to contact me and intervene on Father's behalf!

Praying for all the practicals to be set in motion for this priest, Molly.
God knows all the challenges of this situation and I know that He will be merciful! Our Lady too never forgets one of her sons, I will ask her to intercede especially during this holy season!
