Hi ladies,
My husband received a call from a potential employer last night. This job is his dream job and we would be able to move back to the SE which we have been praying for. Apparently there are a lot of very good applicants so although he and the interviewer apparently really hit it off, it is still extremely competitive. This job is truly everything we have been praying for during the last year. Please pray! It would mean so much to us.
Thank you!!!
UPDATED 12/5
Well, there is still no word and I am struggling with this. Not so much because it looks like he may not have gotten the job but because of the way the interviewer has handled things. When he called my husband they had a great conversation and at the end of their phone call he told my husband to research the company and come up with some questions and/or suggestions. He said that he would call back in a few days. This was more than three weeks ago. My husband, who works 50 hours a week and is in his last semester of graduate school took time out of his life to do what the interviewer asked so that he would be ready for his call. We both knew that there was a lot of competition for the position but we also believed the interviewer when he said he'd call back.
I've been reading and praying for all of the women who have left prayer requests in this forum. I feel a little guilty posting this. So many of you have lost loved ones, are struggling with illness or discord within your family. In light of those struggles mine seems like small beans. I can't deny that I'm struggling with anger right now though. My sweet husband is so good and it would never occur to him that someone wouldn't call back after they said that would (and after they asked him to do his "homework"). He is truly baffled. I guess I feel defensive because I love him so much.
It would be one thing if the man had sent an e-mail or letter or called to let him know that they had gone with someone else but the radio silence after he had given my husband an assignment, so to speak, and promised to call back, really eats away at me. I know this is probably the evil one and I am trying to pray my way through this and put all my trust in God but it's been especially hard for me this time around for some reason.
I realize that there could have been some delay, a family situation perhaps, and that I shouldn't give up hope or judge this man too harshly. And maybe this is just how it goes in the business world but the man in question is a good Catholic man running a respected Catholic company and I would have expected better.
Forgive me if I am being too sensitive or too harsh. I think my reaction is probably irrational but that's why I'm hear begging for your continued prayers. Thank you sweet ladies!
Advent blessings to you all!
Much love!

I just wanted to pop in here and thank you again for all of your prayers! I can't tell you how they have comforted me. There is still no word regarding the position. Dan called them (thanks for the suggestion!) and was told that the position(s) would be filled in December but as of earlier this week they still had not made a final decision. It sounds like Dan is still in the running, though, so we continue to pray and to hope. Please say another little prayer for this intention if you have a moment or two. :) Thank you!

Bummer! Praying for you as you continue to wait, and for your husband who has so much on his plate right now. I'm finding myself ready to go to battle for you so know I share your irrationality! I hope you hear something either way soon.
I'm not the most learned in business etiquette, but perhaps an e-mail or phone call to inquire about the status of the position would not be out of order?
Praying!

Hallie - I think it is perfectly natural to feel protective and want a just response for your husband. I really agree with booksnbabes - a polite phone call as an inquiry could provide closure or further information.
I'll be praying for your peace and for your dh to find the right job - soon.

Hallie, I would feel the same way. I am adding your concerns to my St. Joseph prayers - and I've asked my co-op students to pray for job-seekers this month, too.

Hallie-this is not a silly prayer request. I know you probably know this, but I wanted to remind you, to ask God to help you trust him even more-He has something for your DH.
You sound like such a loving, devoted wife, and your DH is very blessed to have you. We'll all keep praying!
Oh! Though I am out of the business loop,my DH is a fire and hire guy, and he said to definitely have your DH follow up. If it doesn't work, he said it's a company that sounds too good to be true-type thing.IOW- he's better off to keep looking elsewhere!
Hang in there!
