My 4yo had a fall recently which resulted in a sore elbow. We didn't think much of it until dh (a doctor) noticed that she couldn't straighten her arm. Otherwise she seemed fine, so we were in two minds whether or not to take her to A&E (=E.R.). Just to be on the safe side, I took her, only to find that they were more concerned about whether *I* had injured her than the arm itself. The fact that we didn't bring her in straight away, that she's one of four children, and is home educated, all seemed to be 'warning signs' of neglect in their eyes.
Obviously I feel worried and guilty enough anyway (she fell while playing in the park -- I was nearby but not right next to her) but all this made me feel quite sick. I've got to take her back to a different clinic on Wednesday, this time with all the other children in tow, which I'm absolutely dreading.
Meanwhile, it's not even clear whether dd has fractured her elbow or not. She has been very patient and brave with it all, but your prayers for her, and for the whole situation, would be much appreciated.

Poor girl! Hope it turns out to be nothing. Prayers for her, and for you and this whole situation--"one of four children" golly! I guess I had better get ready for even more intense scrutiny!

Oh my, Elizabeth. This would leave me feeling so unsettled. I'm praying for your peace, her elbow and for reason and level heads to prevail in this ridiculous attempt to question you.

Oh my goodness, Elizabeth. It makes me feel sick to think that *accidents* are not recognized as such (both in cases such as yours where too much suspicion is put on to something, and also knowing that there are real reasons for things being that way). Praying for your daughter and for you and your husband.

Oh Elizabeth, how dreadful! I've always thought (and actually thought it again today, interestingly enough) that I am glad we have had no serious injuries with school age children..I'm asking Our Lady to place her mantle over you all!
