If you all could spare a prayer for our family--my husband lost his job this afternoon. He is an academic by training so the things he's qualified for start in about ten months. We moved halfway across the country this summer to take a job that only barely paid the bills while we waited for him to get a "real" job next fall. And now that has fallen through.
I haven't been on the Forum much in recent weeks so I know there are probably others of you with similar struggles right now. Be assured of my prayers.

Oh, Susan. I am definitely praying for you guys that he finds something soon to get you through to next year. We so appreciate how those of us here on the forum benefitted from him being there. It's so unfortunate that it would end like that.

I just received my Parsch books this morning so I was thinking warmly of your family. I will certainly pray.

Susan, you will have my prayers, I too, was one who benefitted from the Parsch book offers, I will be asking Our Lady to reward him greatly for his generosity.

susan, this is very eerie. when I was chatting with dh about where your dh worked, less than a week ago, he expressed surprise that they were hiring right now. we have a friend at another similar publisher, and they are always on the brink of unemployment. I am SO SORRY.
I would look into Univ of IL in Champaign/Urbana, IL. They now have their own Catholic (VERY Catholic I should add) theology dept within the school. how cool is that?
(besides the newest and biggest newman Center  )
Seems like some of the "good" Catholic institutions are not looking/expanding right now , but maybe in a few months things will change?
