Please pray for my brother and his wife who had their baby die during labor yesterday. Little Catherine had Trisomy 18 and a severe heart defect. As expected, my brother and his wife are very sad. They live far from me and I am also at a loss for how to help - prayers, of course, but I feel the need to do something and there is not much I can do. Thank you for your prayers.

Update - They are holding a funeral service for little Catherine tomorrow at 2 pm EST. Please try to keep my brother and SIL in your prayers. They are an older couple (47 and 51) and were so excited with this pregnancy. It is very hard.
Another Update - The service was held and about 60 people in attendance. The doctors and office staff that my SIL (she is a nurse practitioner) works for were there - they had all encouraged termination. My sister said that it was a beautiful witness to the value of every life for these people to see this outpouring of grief, love, support for this family and this baby. The priest gave a beautiful talk on the value of life. I want to thank you all for your prayers.

Oh no! I had a friend earlier this year, loss her baby for the same reason...I am praying for them, Mary!

How heartbreaking! I am so sorry, Mary, and am holding your brother and his wife in my prayers. May our Blessed Mother hold them close and comfort them during this time of great grief.

I will pray asking for baby Katherine's intercession for her mother and father. This is such a heavy, heavy cross.
Pray, pray, pray. Offer your days for them, Mary. And then send them a card telling them you are praying...and PM me if you would like some more concrete ideas on how you can support them.

My Heart is sad reading this, I am so very sorry they are suffering right now. Such a beautiful little name! I will offer prayers for the mother and father to find peace through this trial.

Mary, We lost our little Matthew much the same way 9 years ago. It was heart-wrenching, but grace filled as well. Your prayers will mean so much, and truthfully a card after all has settled down and most others have moved on means so much. After the funeral and everyone has gone home, you're left still holding that heavy Cross and it feels gigantic at that point.
I'm asking our Matthew to intercede for your brother and sil, and asking baby Catherine to intercede for them as well. There is such comfort in the communion of saints!
