Brian has some things going on with the business, which could be very positive for us in many ways. The ground-work is taking a toll on him, and consequently, on us all. We're hanging in there, but would really appreciate prayers for stamina.
Blessings,

Thank you, ladies! I appreciate your prayers so much. These "pushes" can be so draining - long hours, not much sleep, inevitable crankiness. So easy to give up before the job is finished.
Blessings,

Oh thank you, thank you! He's one step closer and beginning to feel some pressure lift. Still one or two more hurdles to clear.
You gals are GOOD!
Blessings,

Brian has an important meeting today, which is the final hurdle to clear. It has been a grueling few weeks, but the prayers of friends have carried us through. I'm convinced that prayer is what made the process move so much faster recently.
I'm trying to keep my excitement in check, contracts can break down just as easily on signature day as any other. I'm offering my anxiety of all of you who are struggling financially, that you will also have some very good news soon.
Blessings,

I'm so sorry. I meant to post yesterday afternoon, but we got so busy. The meeting was postponed. Brian and his partner decided to wait on signing their contract until the third-party contract was in. Just another totally normal frustration. Delays are always to be expected...
So everything is on hold until that other contract comes in. Please God it'll be soon, so we can focus on other things.
I've really been feeling the prayers, they're so tangible to me during this process. It's funny because we've been through things that were much tougher - health, etc. I can really feel the power of Heaven moving this whole thing and I have peace that all will be for the best. I just wish best would come really, really fast!
Blessings,

Finally today Brian and our new business partner signed the papers forming a joint venture. The contracts we were waiting for are beginning to come in, and Brian has his first business trip planned for sometime in the next 2 weeks.
This venture represents a huge financial relief, and the fruition of Brian's potential in his profession. It also means that we are closer to doing some of those things we'd hoped for over 17+ years of marriage.
A little back-story:
Brian left a direct job with a major govt. contractor about 3 years ago so that he could work from home and be with us more, as well as to build a family business. We did well for about 6 months when things got very difficult. On his birthday, 2006, he got a phone call out of the blue from an old friend and colleague about some possible contract work. Brian's contract was about to expire and we were expecting our 6th child. They wound up having one of those heart-to-heart talks that men seldom share - really personal, emotional stuff. Brian was unsettled by it, but felt that the message was that he was on the right path (staying home with family). His friend said he was planning to leave his work to be home with his own wife and family as soon as his current project was completed. Over the next couple of weeks the two of them talked more as they set up the worked they'd discussed.
On August 29th, 2006, (one month after the initial phone call) Clark Benton, Brian's friend, and his wife were killed in a tragic plane accident at Blue Grass Airport in Kentucky. Since that day, things have fallen into place that we never could have imagined for Brian's career.
It hasn't been easy at times, but full of surprises - and all leading up to this current opportunity. Another phone call out of the blue from another friend and colleague he hadn't heard from in some time. Turns out that he needed Brian's expertise (which he had been honing over the last 2 years on the job Clark set him up with). He'd invented a device and system that the government needed. However, in order to get the work, he needed a person that was not only a brilliant engineer, but also a brilliant acquisitions person and project manager. Very early on in the discussions, Jerry said that he believed that God put them together and did that notion bother Brian? Brian was overjoyed, and things have gone fairly smoothly since.
The finalized contract from the government should be in on or about the 29th of this month - 2 years to the day since Clark left us. We have no doubt that it was through his intercession that God brought this all together.
I thank you so very much for your prayers. We've really needed them for the home stretch, and they have been mightily felt.
Blessings,
