Thanks for any prayers for a good safe birth for this baby -- preferably with the baby getting into a good position for a VBAC. The doctor told me today that the baby is in an "oblique" position. It doesn't sound like she could be born from the position she was in today without surgery, although he was encouraging saying don't worry, we'll see what position she's in when you are in labor, and there's still plenty of room for her to move. He didn't even tell me she was in a less than ideal position until I asked because lately I've been puzzled about which parts I'm feeling up high. I'll be 37 weeks Thursday though and while I do feel some large movements at times that suggest she might still be changing position pretty significantly, I'm nervous about this. I have had two c-sections already and am not planning to try again for a VBAC if this doesn't work out!

Theresa, praying all will be well, I know about position worries, my Annuncia was breech until late in the birth itself and then she turned..I'll be praying your bubs will go to optimal position way before that in order you can have the birth you are hoping for.

I had an image of the anterior position on my statue of Our Lady, leaving it in her hands, you can see it in my photo here.

Thanks for all the prayers -- well, my doula (who has also been training under a licensed midwife to become a midwife herself) visited today and estimated that the baby was in a just about perfect position! Because, of course, she can still move pretty freely. If only I could sit on my birth ball for the next three weeks or so and have her stay in the right place.

Well, today the OB said she was head down (and when I asked whether toward the side or toward the middle, he said toward the middle.) I'd been almost afraid to ask and find myself more discouraged if he didn't bring it up himself. He also said she doesn't seem big. And I'm Group B strep negative this time! Yay! I am so grateful for these things. Thanks for all your prayers! Today we're 37 weeks 4 days.
