Can you all please pray that I can tame my hyperactive imagination? Is there some kind of disorder (maybe HID?) that I can be treated for? I'd rather not go into great detail as regards what this is about ... it'd probably take a Michener-sized novel involving a good deal of my history. But this overactivity seems to hit me the hardest when I'm hugely pregnant.
Maybe pray for peace of mind ... that sounds reasonable.

Praying for you, Tina. I know that my imagination (and dreams) go into hyper-drive when I'm pregnant...very weird for me because I'm not very imaginative or creative in general .
Love,

Praying! Isn't that part of anxiety disorders - intrusive thoughts? (which I think is just techno speak for "imagining crazy things that aren't going to happen but you are convinced they will anyway" ) I'm quite familiar with those!

Praying, Tina. I recognize myself in your description of your imagination and all the trouble it can make.
Peace,
Nancy

Dear Tina,
Over the years I have suffered from this overactive imagination also. If you can control it then you have been blessed if it moves to your tongue then you’re in real trouble.
You are in my prayers. God bless Chemai

While I feel bad that you're going through this, I have to admit I'm somewhat relieved. Ever since I got pregnant I've had this overactive imagination, and I never attributed it to the pregnancy until I saw your post! I've even had a few very disturbing dreams, one where my husband got fired from his job(!) -- very very odd considering I hardly ever have nightmares and don't even think of these weird things when I'm awake.
So anyway, said all that to say -- I'm praying for your peace of mind! And thanks for sharing!

Here's a recent example of my imagination run wild. I dreamed that I went to wake my 5 yos, who usually sleeps late because he has lots of older brothers to keep awake for at night, but he had passed away during the night!
Or here's another one. I'm used to the baby wiggling a LOT as I'm settling into bed, but she didn't last night. I got up and had a drink of water, I rubbed my belly. And I waited for what seemed like hours (but in reality, it was only minutes) to feel her move. in the meantime, I'm listing in my brain all the things I'd eaten or done during the day that might have hurt her.
It's the same thing here, Stef. I wouldn't ordinarily *consciously* consider these things. Soon this little one will be in my arms. And in another 18 months, my imagination will be able to settle down.
Thank you ALL for helping me to realize that I'm not alone in this venture.
