It's been almost six years since one of our sons married, and slowly he and his wife have become more and more upset about not being able to conceive a baby. My poor daughter in law's sister is now expecting her second baby any time, her only sibling and it is their heartfelt desire to be able to have a baby themselves. Our son tells us his wife has begun to shed silent tears every month when her menses shows up. As well, other married children have been able to have more children, and when our last grandchild arrives, this son told his brother "you have what we can't have, please never take your babies for granted".... I almost lost it when I heard that, wanted to pull this couple in my arms and protect them from their pain. To double this, all the couples in their circle of friends are having more and more babies...seven last year alone!
We are invoking the intercession of St. Gerard for their intention. My daughter in law heads for her doctor in a few weeks where he will be sending her to have a few tests. We are so praying for them to have a baby and ask if you might join us in doing the same. Thank you so much.
** November 13, 2009 ** Fast forward well over one year to this continued prayer request please.
Our son and his wife have been mourning for a long time, forever in their eyes.
They have cried much and see another sibling with child yet again due next month.
Medically, they are now seeking a doctor's advice, both dreading the outcomes of which one might have a problem, if either at all. They are just devastated but at last, they seem to be facing this all head on and I pray for HOPE to visit them, longing myself to see their happy go lucky spirits once more.

I should add that I will pray particularly for St. Joseph's intervention in this regard. I always remember a homily I heard that relayed a story of St. Joseph's intervention in a miraculous way for a couple who were told they would never conceive.

I will also ask St. Gerard's intercession. I prayed to him faithfully for conception, and then for protection through my pregnancies. I had been told that there was no hope for me to conceive naturally, but my 3 children proved the doctors wrong.
I remember the pain of not being able to conceive, and I hold them in my prayers.

Thank you so much everyone for your prayers and private messages. I am greatly touched each time I come to you with my humble requests and thank you so very sincerely and with great emotion.
