Jack has a cavity that needs to be filled. 
The dentist is going to have me hold him in my lap while he fills it without using anesthesia.  He is worried that the anesthesia would just make him panic because he wouldn't understand what was happening.
Please pray that this goes very quickly and as painlessly as possible.

Oh my stars! I'm panicked thinking about the pain with no novacaine!
I have experienced a little of this with not enough novacaine and they had to peel me off the ceiling!
Is there anything they will give the little darling?
I'm praying for you and him, Krisann.

God is great and you prayer warriors are terrific. 
It was over in minutes! I was shocked at how quickly it went. From the minute we walked in to when I paid the co-pay was exactly 15 minutes. I have never been so happy after a dental appointment. 
The actual "procedure" took less than 3 minutes. I love this dentist!  Jack listened to some music on headphones while dad held him. They put a bite block in to keep his mouth open (and so far he was completely content). He didn't start to fuss until they turned on the equipment. I think he was upset by the noise and activity rather than any pain.
They got in, removed the cavity, and filled it - done! I couldn't believe it when they said, "Done!" As soon as they took the bite block out, Jack was happy and ready to get a treasure from the treasure box.
I had "prepared" him in advance by telling him the dentist was going to "get the bugs" out of his tooth and it would be kind of noisy. But I sure was worried about the no anesthesia!
It was so quick, I think it would have been much worse if they had done the novacaine because he would have had the pain from the injection and then the numbness which he wouldn't have understood.

Glad to hear it went well!
The few times my young kids had cavities......they were all filled without novacaine......freaked me out.....but they did not even notice
