I wanted to start a separate thread for my uncle Peter, to ask for special prayers.
He is in hospital at present with breathing problems which worsened after his first chemo treatment. They discovered he has an infection in the chest and he is being kept in hospital longer to get get on top of it.
He is due to have his next chemo on Monday and it is so necessary in order to shrink down this large tumour in one of his lungs which is now pushing on things in the vacinity, if it dosen't shrink down he will be in serious trouble.
They won't give him the next treatment until the infection is gone...could you please pray that it will clear? I was up at the hospital tonight and he has these terrible coughing fits, he is suffering terribly.

UPDATE:
Since this posting my uncle has had a time of great suffering - they gave him a couple of rounds of chemo but he keeps developing infections - chest infection and then recently a skin infection..so chemo is unlikely to be continued as he deteriorates. He suffers shortness of breath and grows weaker. He has just been transferred back home via ambulance but I think he is likely to end back in hospital and probably palliative care.
He is resigned to God's Will (a great blessing) but naturally fearful of dying...not being able to breathe.
I would be most grateful for any prayers offered for him!

2nd UPDATE
Uncle Peter has deteriorated in the last 24hours, very laboured breathing, cannot move without being severely exhausted...he wanted to have the rosary prayed around his bedside last night, I don't know what this week will bring, those who want to see him before he is unable to talk are flying in today. Prayers for graces at his death as it is likely to be very hard and frightening.

3rd UPDATE
Firstly, I want to thank everyone for prayers, I appreciate them greatly!
My uncle Pete continues to deteriorate but is still at home...it's surreal for me actually, this uncle most closely resembles my father and he is now loosing weight, very pale, his whole look is like looking at my father in his last stages..Some nights he has had trouble swollowing food and his breathing is laboured. We are all praying that his body will just slip away when it gets too bad, as it is great suffering for him.

4th UPDATE
My uncle has worsened and the priest was called last night to anoint him, he did not rouse in any way during the anointing and we were by his bedside praying late into the evening, just before I left he roused a little...then slipped back, as he is now. It has been a blessing that three relatives are nurses and have been able to keep him at home, we are praying it will stay that way. I don't think he has very long now.

Uncle Pete has been transferred to hospital but we have all been called to come now, he is dying and is not expected to last this day.

FINAL UPDATE
My dear, beloved Uncle Pete passed away very, very peacefully 5.05pm Aus time...surrounded by his family and friends in pallitive care, it was an honour to be with him in his final hour..we prayed the Divine Mercy chaplet at his side and as he passed away we had a priest walk in and pray over him - I cannot thank you all enough for your loving prayer and concern...from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.
